Christmas Stars

So Merry Christmas.  My Christmas wish for you, is to enjoy every happy moment, cherish the memories and surround yourself with the ones you love.

So today's share is a Christmas yummy for you.  I made little honey star biscuits (a recipe I found at one of my MOPs (Mother's Group) craft sessions.  It was so yummy and I had to try and remember how to make it for myself!

Of course, if you don't have time to ice your biscuits (I did, but the kids ate them too fast!!) a nice little dusting of icing sugar will do.

I packaged my star biscuits into a little glass preserving jar.  Added a belly band of Hessian Ribbon, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and a string of stars punched from Gold Foil card.

Of course, I can't leave you without a little recipe.  I hope you enjoy as much as my kids and I did!

Merry Christmas to you and your family xx

Honey Biscuits:
Ingredients
60g butter
1/2 cup of honey plus 2 tablespoons (approx. 140g)
3/4 cup plain flour

1/3 cup self raising flour
1/2 teaspoon bi carb soda

Instructions
  1. Place butter, honey and vanilla into a small saucepan.
  2. Melt in a saucepan over a medium heat on the stove, stirring continuously.
  3. Remove saucepan from stove. Add remaining ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon until combined.
  4. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Line large baking trays with baking paper.
  5. Once dough is slightly cooled and easy to work with, roll out into a thin rectangle about 2mm in thickness.  Use your favourite cookie cutters to cut shapes form dough.
  6. Bake in oven for approximately 5-8 minutes or so.  Length of cooking time depends on the thickness of your dough.
  7. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

Festival of Tree Trio

Today's (and the final card for today) is a very special card that we made at our Christmas Avid Inkers meet up.  This card is beautiful, has a few neat cuts and folds, which all put together, makes a very clever little card.  I don't know if you call this a step card or a fancy fold card, or both!!

Thank you Annette for showing us this card!

Gorgeous cardstock colours of Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler.  With a touch of Pear Pizzazz.

This card uses hidden strips of acetate to hold the trees steady and upright.  Such a nifty idea, and you can barely see it!  The trick is to add the acetate in layers with the trees and Cherry Cobbler CS.   Took me a little while, but I did figure it out!!

The final pic, shows the fancy folds used in the card (you can also see I took the photo AFTER I wrote in it!!).  The folds look ok, the cuts were a little bit trickier.

I'm not sure where Annette found the inspiration for this card.  The closest one I could find on Pinterest!  If you want to make this card, let me know and I'll get the directions to you!

Well, now it's Christmas Eve.  No more chatter from me.  Christmas Eve is a special time.  Enjoy every moment.  Merry Christmas xx

Star so Pretty

Well, I'm just catching up on my Christmas card shares now.  Christmas is but a sleep or two away!

Today's card share, is a Make & Take we made at one of our Avid Inkers meet ups.  One of us, always picks a surprise project and this one, was wonderful!

This card, features the very gorgeous and so versatile Star Framelits.  I love them and they come in so many sizes!!

There are three layers to this card.  The first layer is from Crumb Cake CS, the top layer features the Moonlight Designer Series paper stack and the inside layer is Silver Glimmer CS.  SO pretty!!

There are a few little tricks to make this card, so I'm going to point you to Crafty Maria's page where the inspiration came from!  And even great to know, you don't need this card just for Christmas.  It's an anytime card!!

Coastal Stars

I just love this batch of cards, in fact I made a few of them.  I think I saw something similar on Pinterest, not quite sure now as I made them a while ago, but I love them.  I have used Coastal Cabana and silver as my feature colours.  Gorgeous colour combination!

I have stamped my star in Coastal Cabana ink and my sentiment in Versamark ink which I very promptly embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.  So shiny!

Add a few Silver Glimmer stars and the card is so sparkly.  And I think sparkly in a very elegant way!

Of course, a whole stack of sparkly and pretty cards needs to be admired.  I should have wrapped and tied with a bow!!

Wreath Cards

I do like to mix my cards us, as I have so many to send and I like to always have a range of cards to choose from!  So for today's feature card, I have used the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and the matching framelits.  Coordination love xx

I used Very Vanilla & Mossy Meadow for these cards.  The dark green of Mossy Meadow goes so well with the Vanilla.  I had of course embossed my Very Vanilla background with the On Point Embossing Folder.

I add little rhinestones coloured in with the Cherry Cobbler blendabilities markers and a glittery red bow.  So cute.  I actually made some of these cards in a landscape layout but forgot to take photos.

Silver & Gold Trees

So I was so inspired by the gorgeous Festival of Trees stamp set, that I decided to use them for a completely different style of card.  I wanted simple, elegant, and I think these cards delivered!

I used Whisper White CS, silver and gold embossing powders and a few little sparkly accessories, such as glittery stars and frosted sequins!
