Hello There

Oops, another week (or so) got lost again.  I'm not sure where the time went.  I'm doing higher duties at work, it's the end of winter season sports and all the other commitments you have with your family!

I have been making cards, even had a workshop last weekend.  So lots to share.  Just need a moment or so to take a few pics and share them here!

If you're missing me, you can always find me on Facebook - Stamp with Me, just click on the link!

So today I thought I would share one of the cards I made for my workshop.  This one was inspired by pinterest!

I've used a piece of the fab Burlap ribbon, some thick Bakers Twine and a few little gorgeous flowers for interest.

To make the project, I used:

Stamps: Hello there
Inks: Basic Black
Papers: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Melon Mambo & Blushing Bride
Accessories: Burlap Ribbon, Pearls, Thick Bakers Twine & Glue Dots
Punches: Petite Petal & Itty Bitty Accents

A Blooming Birthday

Is September a month of birthdays for you?  It certainly seems to be for me.  I have heaps of friends and families celebrating birthdays this month!!  So I'll have a parade of birthday cards to share with you, starting with this one for my lovely friend (I haven't given her it yet, so she shall remain unnamed here!!).

I have used a number of stamp sets for this one: Flower Patch, Flower Shop & Gorgeous Grunge.  The Flower Patch set is a photopolymer set which I'm still learning to use.  It feels quite different from rubber stamps!

I stamped my splotches and dots in Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding before adding the flowers stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I then added a layer of Melon Mambo CS for interest before adding to the main card base in Whisper White CS.

You can see I added lots of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Glue to the flower centres and a few little sequins.  So cute!!

All products are from Stampin' Up! and include:

Stamps: Flower Patch, Flower Shop & Gorgeous Grunge
Inks: Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Smokey Slate & Pistachio Pudding, Memento Tuxedo Black
Papers: Whisper White & Melon Mambo CS
Accessories: Dazzling Details, 2013-2015 In Colour Sequin Assortment

Father's Day card reveal

OK, so now it is a day AFTER Father's Day, I can share my Father's Day card I made for my dad.  In case you're wondering, I didn't make one for my husband.  I gave the kids enough craft supplies to make their own, and that they did.  Even if the glitter glue took over 24 hours to dry.....

It was really hard to think of a theme for my dad.  His hobbies include reading, gardening and music.  I had lots of stamps for nautical/beach themes or maybe even sports.  But in the end I decided to use my Lovely as a Tree stamp set.  My dad loves trees, so even if I've made him cards with that set before, it still is such a versatile stamp set for another card!!

I used a few trusty (and not recently used) tools for this one.  The brayer and some sponges/daubers.  And got myself inky.  Thank goodness for post-it notes.

I stamped the trees with Always Artichoke & Chocolate Chip ink.  And then inked up the background using Old Olive on the brayer and sponges and then Basful Blue for the sky. The colours complemented each other beautifully.

My stamped image (on Whisper White) was then matted onto Crumb Cake and then onto the Whisper White card base.  Added some linen thread and a little sentiment - the card was done.  I added a couple of staples for interest.  But definitely nothing girly on this card.

I used:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree & Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Inks: Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Bashful Blue & Chocolate Chip
Papers: Crumb Cake & Whisper White CS
Accessories: Word Window punch, stap
les, linen thread, brayer & daubers

Work of Art for the Boys

It's Father's Day today and before I go one sentence further, I just wanted to wish my own dad and my husband a very Happy Father's Day.  With three kids of our own, it's a busy job being a dad!!

So I just wanted to share a swap I made for my Stampin' Up group - Avid Inkers.  In anticipation of Father's Day, we decided to pick a masculine theme.  I'll show you my ones today and the swaps I received, later in the week!

I went with a 'out-of-my-comfort-zone' colour combination with the use of Tangerine Tango, Lost Lagoon and Baked Brown Sugar, but I'm thinking a great colour combo for the guys!

I made a whole bunch of them and put them together in a little pile tied with twine. I try to be arty sometimes, not that it always works!!

I used the Work of Art stamp set to create my little sailboat and the chevron waves.  So cute!  I used my Chocolate Chip marker to make the mast.  My main card was layered onto a piece of Crumb Cake CS and then onto a base of Tangelo Twist, embossed with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

I added two little black banners that were stapled on.  They kind of look like little sailing flags.  I had a lot of fun making these.  Not that my husband or my dad are into sailing!!

So here's what I used:
Papers: Whisper White, Tangelo Twist, Crumb Cake & Basic Black CS
Inks: Tangelo Twist, Baked Brown Sugar, Lost Lagoon & Chocolate Chip marker
Stamps: Work of Art
Accessories: Staples, Large Polka Dot E/F & Banner Punch

Inspiration for my swap came from here.
