Guest Designer - Card in a box

Earlier this month, I shared my version of the very popular Card in a Box.  It's a great card to make and I love that it folds flat to put in an envelope.  Love love love.  You can see my earlier version here.

So anyway, today I would like to share the Card in a Box version made by my very lovely friend Sandy.  It's just gorgeous and I love how hers came together.

Sandy has used the Oh Baby stamp set and the Secret Garden stamp set.  Don't you just love it?  I love the colours too.

If you would like the instructions to make this box, do let me know.  I used the instructions from the Stampin' T blog as her instructions are based on Australian sizes.

Thanks Sandy for sharing.  Your card in a box is beautiful!

Easter mini Baskets

I know it's Easter and I should be off the computer, but I really had to share these oh so cute, tiny little Easter baskets.  Perfect for Easter!

I found this project idea on Pinterest (but of course), and I knew (I just knew) I had to make them as little table gifts for my three gorgeous children!

They really are tiny.  As small as small can be!  After all, they are made with a 3 1/2" square.

My gorgeous girl holding the tiny boxes (yes, bandaids and all!).

Tinier than her small hands!

You can find the tutorial here: At nice people stamp!

Happy Easter

Just popping in to say Happy Easter to you all!  I am also sharing the cards I made for my family (which I hope they've received in the mail by now!!).  Otherwise, family - don't look!

I made a series of cards using the Eggstra Spectacular stamp set (which I love) and the pretty colour of Coastal Cabana.

I coordinated the Coastal Cabana CS with the Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Papers.  That pack of papers is absolutely gorgeous!  I hope I remember to buy another pack before they're gone.

I used Coastal Cabana as the feature colour, coordinated with Very Vanilla CS and lots of sponging with Crumb Cake ink.

I have used a selection of punches and linen thread.  The linen thread coordinates beautifully with the vintage look of sponging.

I didn't use up much of the papers as I thought I would, which means lots left to make other projects.  Starting with maybe, scrapbooking today's Easter.

To make this project, you need the following supplies:

Stamps: Eggstra Spectacular & Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Papers: Very Vanilla & Coastal Cabana CS, Afternoon Picnic DSP
Inks: Crumb Cake & Basic Black
Accessories: Linen Thread & Pearls
Punches: 1-3/4 Circle Punch, 2-3/8 Scallop Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch & the flower from Itty Bitty punch set

To make this set of cards, you can be inspired by mine or purchase the tutorial from Chic n' Scratch.

Happy Easter!

Skinny Box

Way, way, way back in January, I made a little post-it note holder using the gorgeous Gingham Garden papers.  So I decided I would make a little box, well a skinny box, using the same colour scheme!

The box uses only a small piece of paper or cardstock, and can be made to look as pretty or as dressed up as you like.  I decided to cut my box from Melon Mambo CS and decorate!

And of course, I used Gingham Garden DSP.  It's so pretty!!  I love it!  Just happens to coordinate with the Melon Mambo CS as well.  Bonus :)

I used the Gingham Garden DSP to make a belly band and then started the decorations.  I made little rolled roses from Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight CS.  I laid these onto a white leaf die-cut which I had cut with my Cricut and a free SVG file I had.

Put it all together and you have a pretty box.  I filled the box with Lindt balls which are pretty yummy, and perfect size for this box!

I really do love these flowers!

To make this box, head on over to this Youtube tutorial.  It shows you better than I could try to explain!

Little Boxes

Another little project share today.  These adorable little boxes which are the perfect size for tea light candles!

I used the new Scallop Tag punch found in Stampin' Up!s latest Occasions catalogue.  So nifty and so cool.  I used Smokey Slate CS, and decorated with Petite Petals stamped in Blushing Bride.

I followed the directions for this box from Pinterest of course, and you can follow it too by clicking here!

I stamped extra flowers on Whisper White & Smokey Slate CS and added tiny pearls.  So purty!

The box was finished with a shiny silver brad to keep the box closed.  So nifty!!

Here's what I used:
Stamps: Petite Petals
Inks: Smokey Slate & Blushing Bride
Papers: Smokey Slate & Whisper White CS
Accessories: Pearls, Silver brads & Scallop Tag punch.

My card in a box

Finally, finally, finally!  I can show my Card in a Box which I made about a month ago.  I was able to hand-deliver it to my friend Beck this week as part of her birthday gift.  So it's with much pleasure I show today, my version of the very popular card in a box!

I used a colour combination of Smokey Slate, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.  Such cool colorus that work beautifully together.

I used a few different stamp sets for decorating the box card.  I used Flower Shop and the coordinating punch as well as the Petite Petals and coordinating punch.  Makes cutting so much easier!

All my pieces have been stamped onto Whisper White pieces.  I have used a few dies including the Little Leaves and Butterfly sizzlets.

I stamped Happy Birthday which I had coloured with markers (Smokey Slate & Bermuda Bay) onto a piece of Whisper White CS and then matted onto a scallop circle of Smokey Slate.  I added a little flower from Crushed Curry CS and a tiny little gem.

I used the Banner Blast and coordinating punches (love coordinating punches!!) as well as a banner cut from Eastern Elegance DSP.  Banners of course, overlaid onto crochet thread.

My card base was cut from Smokey Slate CS and used the Winter Frost Paper Stack (from the Holiday catalogue).  As you can see it folds up so you can put the card into an envelope.  I followed the instructions from the Stampin' T blog as her instructions are based on Australian sizes.   If you're looking for other sizes, just google/pinterest search Card in a Box.  There are so many designs to be inspired by!

DIY Notebook

It's not often I get the time, but I really like to give homemade gifts.  Especially for my friends and family that both appreciate handmade and value the time that is taken to make the gifts.  So when I wanted to send my favourite aunty a home made gift, I decided on a little covered notebook!

I found some little notebooks at the local shops.  While they weren't too bad to look at, I knew I could make them a whole lot prettier.   I covered the notebook in Marina Mist patterned DSP using my Tombow glue, and making sure the glue spread from edge to edge.  You also need to allow enough DSP to cover the spine of the note and allow for the natural crease/fold.  I also trimmed the corners to fit the curved corners of the notebook.

I used my new favourite Stamp Set: Simple Stems for the flowers, stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White CS and fussy cut each one of them.  I die cut the leaves, using the Little Leaves sizzlet from Pear Pizzazz CS.  I cut a strip off Daffodil Delight CS from one of my favourite DSP packs, and stuck down next to a strip of black Washi Tape.  I then glued my flower and leaves over the top.

I added a little sentiment from the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set and a few pearls to finish.

Papers: Gingham Garden DSP, Subtles Patterned DSP Pack, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White CS
Inks: Basic Black & Melon Mambo
Accessories: Washi Tape, Pearls & Tombow adhesive glue
Big Shot: Little Leaves Sizzlet

My original source of inspiration was found here.

Circles

I just wanted to share a really cute card I made at Mother's Group.  This card is a great design for using up lots scraps as well as adding lots of colour.  Just so happens this card uses Stampin' Up! stamps although I'm fairly certain they are long retired....

I've also added a paper flower, a little button and lots of pearls for dimension!  And I really really love that little pink button.  So cute!

The circles are stamped randomly using pink ink and I've stamped the sentiment with black ink, sponged the sides of the circle and propped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I'm not sure what papers or design collection they are from, but they look super cute.  Super easy too!
