Aachooo

Yes, my blog title is called 'Aachoo'.  It's fitting really as I sit at the computer sniffing and sneezing!  On Christmas morning my oldest son woke up with a nasty cold.  Not the best thing to have on Christmas Day.  After the opening of presents, he went back to bed where he stayed most of the day.  Don't worry all his Lego that he received from Santa was close by.  He perked up by Christmas dinner time which was a relief.

Unfortunately that cold of his is the gift that keeps on giving.  Both myself and my husband have colds now.  Not the ideal thing to have during summer.  Oh well, hopefully it will go on it's merry way OUT of my house in the next day or so!

So it's rather fitting I show you this beautifully designed Christmas Tissue Box that I was given by my lovely friend Beck Tierney.  She makes the most beautiful punch art items!  This tissue box was made following the directions of a tutorial she purchased at Paper Punch Addiction.  What a discovery that site is!

Elf Surprise

Mrs Claus

Moose (although I thought he was a reindeer!!)

Jolly St Nick
Aren't they the cutest things!  Beck showed us how to make Santa Claus.  He is the cutest thing.

Anyway, excuse me now I'm heading back to the couch and a box of tissues!!

Christmas Card Round Up

Can you believe Christmas is almost over?  Christmas Day has come and gone but we still remain in a festive mood.  Having a pine Christmas Tree sends that wonderful Christmassy smell through the house, as do the candles we've been burning each night.  We turn on the Christmas Tree lights at dark and enjoy the festive season, as it will be gone too soon.

So I hope you too have had a Merry Christmas.  I hope the day was filled with wonder and delight.  Yummy food too :)   So today I wanted to share some of wonderful handmade cards I received this year.

The cards are shared in no particular order, just the order they were photographed!  Enjoy!

By the time this post goes live, it's Christmas Day.  I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, to you and yours.  May it be a wonderful day wherever you may be.

Merry Christmas xx

Christmas Cards

Okay, I'm sneaking in with another Christmas Card parade feature!  These are the cards I made as last minute cards when I needed to make a stack of them quickly!

To remind you of my Christmas card parade so far and the stamp sets I used:
Day One featured - Color Me Christmas
Day Two featured - Evergreen and embossing
Day Three featured - Santa's List
Day Five featured - Lovely as a Tree

A Christmas card using the Sunburst technique. This card uses Sahara Sand CS as the base, a Night of Navy card matt and the Sunburst technique features red and Very Vanilla.

I've tied off the card with Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon and added a little Christmas tag using circle punches and the little scallop circle punch.  I used the Mixed Medley stamp set for the little tag.  It's so cute!

A few more cards using the Color Me stamp set, Seasons of Style DSP and die-cutting.

For the next series of cards I've used the Circles Thinlet dies.  These dies are super cool and cut/score your card so that it folds with the circle popping out!

I've used the Wonderful Blessing stamp from the Holiday Single Stamps range which has been stamped and embossed in gold.  So pretty.

I've used the Seasons of Style DSP paper stack again (it's been a great set for me this Christmas) to add interest to the card.

This card uses Chocolate Chip as the card base, with both sides using Seasons of Style.
This card uses Old Olive CS as the card base with a layer of Seasons of Style DSP.
The following three cards were made for my friends at work.  I had spare stamped little guys from the Color Me Christmas set.  I added some glitz, adhered them to little tags cut out with a tag punch and embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Of course all tags need a little string too, bakers twine is perfect.

I've added a layer of Cherry Cobbler embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder and added a strip of the Season of Style DSP.  Cute.

Add a Christmas greeting, some bling and the card is made.  These cards have had their sentiments sponged with silver metallic ink.  Done!

So, that's it for my Christmas cards I think.  I made so many that I often forget to take photos.  I also forget to whom gets which card, but I know all my friends and family will get a handmade card by me.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas.

Christmas Tree

So it's Day five of my Christmas Card parade.  How did that happen and how did I run out of days!!  I need more days to show my cards.  Leaving it to the last minute doesn't help!!  So to remind you:

To remind you of my Christmas card parade so far and the stamp sets I used:
Day One featured - Color Me Christmas
Day Two featured - Evergreen and embossing
Day Three featured - Santa's List

Today's card share features the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.  This set has been around as long as I can remember, but I love it.  It's one of the most versatile sets ever!!

At the time of making this card I had run out of Whisper White CS and my order was on back order.  Very sad and frustrating, but nonetheless I had a supply of Very Vanilla and that's what I used to create my postcard layer of the card.

I stamped the Postcard stamp using Smoky Slate.  What a great ink colour that is.  Not too dark, just perfect.  I then sponged Old Olive around the edges of the tree (very lightly).  I stamped my Christmas Tree in Old Olive ink to match.

The postcard was layered onto a matt of Cherry Cobbler and then onto an Old Olive cardbase.  But before adding to the cardbase I added a bit of red & white striped ribbon that I had to the bottom corner of the card.  I tied off the middle with a bit of bakers twine.  So cute!  Not my idea, but so cute!

This card was inspired by Pinterest (but of course) and the supplies I used were:

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Seasons Greetings & Post Card
Inks: Smoky Slate, Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler
Papers: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive & Very Vanilla
Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Bakers Twine & ribbon

Snow white

So it's two days to Christmas and time is disappearing quick!  I'm just taking a baking break.  No choice really as I ran out of flour.  Thank goodness my grocery delivery is expected soon!

To remind you of my Christmas card parade so far and the stamp sets I used:
Day One featured - Color Me Christmas
Day Two featured - Evergreen and embossing
Day Three featured - Santa's List

So today I wanted to show you some cards I made which I absolutely adored!  My stitched Christmas trees on a snowy white background.  I love this card!

I've started with a Sahara Sand (I think but it could have been Crumb Cake too.  I can't remember now and as I've already sent them, a tad too late to check to be sure!!).  I embossed the layer with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder (which I love) and then did lots of sponging with Whisper White Craft Ink.

I stamped Very Merry in the corner with Basic Black ink and then made my Christmas trees.  The first two cards feature the Winter Frost papers.

I die cut the trees using my Cricut and a free tree svg file that I found on the Scrapbook and Cards Today website.  I used two layers that I stitched onto my card with my sewing machine.  Super easy.  The hard part was lifting my sewing machine (it's super heavy) onto the table!  You can grab these free cutting files over here from Scrapbook & Cards Today.

The last two cards used the Season of Style papers which coordinated beautifully too.  And all trees need a star, so I punched my stars from silver foil.  Nice!!

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Short & Sweet
Inks: Whisper White Craft & Basic Black Classic ink
Papers: Either Sahara Sand or Crumb Cake CS, Winter Frost & Season of Style DSP and Silver Foil sheets
Accessories: Sponge daubers, star punch and sewing machine
Big Shot: Northern Flurry Embossing Folder
