A Thank You

Sometimes the thoughtfulness of friends can surprise you.  It's those moments that are completely unexpected but touch you immensely.  So was the moment when a lovely friend gave me a gift after her trip overseas.  A beautiful scarf and a hand crocheted owl.  So I just had to send her a card of course!

I've used the Regarding Dahlia stamp set for this card.  I have said previously its one of my favourite stamps, and as a background stamp - I love it!

Apologies for the shadows of this pic (don't know how to fix and the card is now in the mail....).  I stamped the flower with Coastal Cabana as it matched perfectly with the strip of Eastern Elegance DSP.  I've stamped thank you of course in Basic Black and added a few gems. You'll see if you look carefully, I've punched little flowers with the Itty Bitty punches that I've adhered to the DSP and highlighted with gems.  Just love those little touches.

This card is so quick to make but a beautiful way to say I thank you!  xx

My supplies:
Stamps: Regarding Dahlia
Inks: Basic Black & Coastal Cabana
Papers: Whisper White & Coastal Cabana CS, Eastern Elegance DSP
Accessories: Itty Bitty Punch & gems

An Anniversary

Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary.  The actual day kind of got lost amongst birthday and party celebrations for our six year old son who celebrated his birthday the day before.  So it's with pleasure I can share my wedding aniversary card that I had made for him, utterly and totally inspired by Pinterest.

So according to the wise old world of the internet, a ten year anniversary is celebrated with tin!

Tin is the traditional material for the 10th wedding anniversary and the 10 year wedding anniversary is called tin because is a symbol of how a successful marriage needs to be flexible and durable plus bending it without getting brokenSource.

Anyway, I digress.  I made my husband a card which I hope he likes!

I've used 'safe' male colours for this card!  Midnight Muse, Night of Navy and Baja Breeze (retired by I love it)! Highlighted with touchers of Whisper White.

I FINALLY used my Hearts a Flutter stamp set and matching Hearts a Flutter framelits to create the banners and the little hearts.  Although I did add the little hearts and love sentiment with another stamp set!

Inspired by the original card, I used Midnight Muse ribbon, a bit of hemp, some retired DSP and adhered to an embossed background.  Of course, using the honeycomb embossing folder - one of my all-time favourites!

Put this all together, I've made a little card for my WH.  I wish I had noticed the Happy Anniversary sentiment was crooked when I took these photos!!  It is adhered with a tiny silver brad so I didn't think to check.  Oh well....

To my wonderful husband, here's to another ten years plus more.  Together is my favourite place to be!

You can find my inspiration for this card here by Kirsty Cooley.

So here's what I used:

Stamps: Hearts a Flutter, Sweetly Framed, Express Yourself & Elementary Elegance
Inks: Baja Breeze, Night of Navy & Midnight Muse
Papers: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Baja Breeze & DSP
Accessories: Vintage pin, Linen Thread, Midnight Muse stitched ribbon & mini silver brad
Big Shot: Honeycomb EF & Hearts a Flutter Framelits

Regarding Dahlias

Do you love dahlias?  I do!  They are such an old fashioned flower that I remember always being in our garden when growing up.  I don't have any in my garden at the moment, but it's on my to plant list when we get working in the back yard garden!

So it was with no coincidence when I saw the Regarding Dahlia stamp set in the 2013-2014 Catalogue and fell in love.  I just love the BIG flower stamp of the Dahlia and how versatile you can make it.  I love it can be used for background stamping and more!  So when I found lots of inspiration on Pinterest, I just had to make my own!

I had two lovely ladies join Stampin' Up! last month, so I decided to use this design as my welcome cards.  I love the new In Colours, so of course decided to use them!  The first card uses Coastal Cabana, don't you just love it!

I've stamped with coordinating ink onto the background and then onto Whisper White.  I've added some embossing to make a feature.  Now that I look at this up close, wish my stamping of Welcome was a bit straighter!

The second card uses Pistachio Pudding.  It kind of reminds me of the retired Certainly Celery but just as adorable.  Makes the card look quite differently too!  Amazing how colour can change a look!

The supplies I used:
Inks: Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana & Basic Black
Papers: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana & Pistachio Pudding
Stamps: Regarding Dahlia & Workshop Words
Accessories: Big Shot, Window Frames Collection, Designer Frames and rhinestones

Merry Snowflake

Last week I met up with my Wednesday morning stamping friends.  We always try to squeeze in a card or two, although we get caught up with chatting, cups of teas and comparing latest purchases, sometimes we just (well me) don't get stamping projects finished.  This time I almost did.  I just had the assembly to do at home!

You'll have most likely seen all the cards and projects featuring the Snow Flurry stamp set and it's coordinating dies.  Its a new set for Christmas 2013 and I do love it.  Wish it snowed in Australia for Christmas in fact!

The first card is the stepped up version, featuring the frosted embellishment charms on the fron tof the snowflake.  I love these!

I've stamped the snowflakes with Midnight Muse and Silver before cutting them with the coordinating dies.  The Magnetic Platform for the Big Shot is the best thing to have!

We've also used circle framelits to cut out a circle on the front of the card.  The snowflake hangs within this.  The snow flakes have been tied to the card with the gorgeous silver ribbon.

I've had a few over-stamped boo boos, on this card!! So you'll notice strategic placement of gems!!  I love how you can 'fix' things with gems!

Hope you like this card, it was a lot of fun to make!  Inspiration for this card can be found here.

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Snowflake Soiree & Festive Flurry
Inks: Midnight Muse & Silver
Papers: Whisper White CS
Accessories: Frosted Finishes Embellishments & Gems
Big Shot: Circles & Festive Flurry Framelits

Flower Shop Love

Taking a break from the Christmas Cards (LOL!!) and sharing another pinterest inspired card.  Today's card is for a lovely friend's birthday and features the Flower Shop stamp set which I absolutely adore...... And it just happens to have a coordinating punch!

I've used the 'Scribble Flower' stamp.  Well, that's what I call it anyway.  I love the simplicity of the design and it stamps up so prettily!

I'm still crushing on the newest In Colours.  I adore them all!  This time I've used Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe.  They go so well together!

Each flower (of course) needs a shiny centre and some are popped up on dimensionals.  I've also used an embossed background with the Mosaics folder.

Happy Birthday Annette.  Hope you have a lovely day celebrating!

Stamps: Flower Shop & Itty Bitty Banners
Inks: Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe
Papers: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe CS
Big Shot: Mosaic Embossing Folder & Itty Bitty Framelits
Accessories: Circle punch, Itty Bitty punch, gems

Tag It

So I'm on a Christmas Card Making roll now.  I know that does sound a bit funny, but I'm now making lots of Christmas cards!  Today's share is one I made a while ago (I've been saving it for a while!) and is the only one photographed and ready to go!!

This card features the Christmas image of the Tag It stamp set.  A versatile stamp set for many occasions.

The lighting is a bit harsh in this photo *(sorry)* but you can get the idea of our little Santa image.  He's been stamped several times in Marina Mist and cut out, adding layer by layer to give him a 3D effect.  Just like the good ol' days of Paper Tole.  He's also sitting on a square of Silver Glimmer Paper.  So pretty!

We've embossed the layer of Marina Mist background CS with the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder and sponged over lightly with Whisper White craft ink.  This layer also sits over a background of Silver Glimmer paper.  So glittery in real life!!

The Tag It stamp set also coordinates with the Chalk Talk framelits, if you want to skip one layer of cutting!!

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Tag It
Inks: Whisper White Craft Ink & Marina Mist Classic Ink
Papers: Whisper White & Marina Mist CS, Silver Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Big Shot, Northern Flurry EF, dimensionals & sponges

Washi Christmas

So, Christmas is quickly approaching.  Fifty one days a lovely friend told me!  Plenty of time to make cards, lol!!

So today I would like to share a few cards I've used as demo's at lovely workshops.  These are based on a Christmas Stamp Class I offer, featuring Washi Tape.  And you all know I love Washi Tape!!

I love the simple elegance of this card.  I've used the Christmas Washi Tape to its full effect (in my opinion, and yes I'm giggling as I write this).  With a Christmas sentiment and a little ornament cut with the Mosaic punch, it's just gorgeous!

This second card, also features the same Washi Tape but boy, how different it looks with this card.  I've first layered tape on a scrap piece of Whisper White CS and then cut with the Ornaments Keepsakes framelit.  Add a few touches here and there, the card is done!

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Greetings of the Season & Mosaic Madness
Inks: Early Espresso
Papers: Whisper White & Cherry Cobbler CS
Accessories: Gems, Silver 1/8" ribbon, Season of Style Designer Washi Tape, Mosaic Punch
Big Shot: Mosaic Embossing Folder & Ornament Keepsake Framelits

Like these cards?  The class if even more amazing.  Contact me now!
