Mosaic Madness Class

Well, I thought I would pop in and share some photos of our projects of the Mosaic Madness Stamp Camp.  It's not often I get to sit and create at a Stamp Class, so when I got to help one of my young customer's who was attending (she's 8), I did the next best thing and helped her.  And I'm sure you'll join me in saying she did a great job with her projects!

This first project is the card box featuring the gorgeous and I absolutely adore, the new In Colours.  They are so summery, I love them!

Top view of the card box

Side view - all colours visible from this angle!

Lovely detail with the mosaics
The cards are just as pretty too.  There were four cards in total, all using the same Mosaic Madness stamps but each one, so different!

Card 1 makes a 3D feature of the Mosaic stamped images.
Card 2 - Colour Blocking is so gorgeous and I love these colours together!

Card 3 uses the top white layer for both stamping on and adhering stamped mosiacs cut out with the punch!

While I don't have a favourite design (I love them all), I think this layout could be done in so many colour ways!
So I hope you enjoyed these projects (not made by me, but one of my guests).  You can make these too, just contact me for all the details on how you can obtain a kit!

Pretty Mosaics

Tomorrow we're having our Mosaic Madness stamp class.  My kits are almost ready to go, and actually, I had better bake something scrumptious now that I'm thinking of what else I need to do ......

So it was with a lot of pleasure to prepare other cards and samples for this class.  We always like to show a few samples using the featured stamp set of the class, that being - Mosaic Madness on this occasion!!

This Mosaic card uses a favourite colour combination.  Strawberry Slush and Cool Cabana.  They are so pretty together.  I love the new in colours!! I just have to point out, how different the embossed card looks when you use the reverse side of the embossed paper.  To see what I mean, check out my Hello, Lovely post where I've used the negative side of this!

Lots of layering on this card.  Each mosaic has been stamped, punched and adhered to the cardbase with a dimensional.  Each one has a little flower and/or a gem put on.  I tell you, the card is so much more with just these tiny little embellishments!

I've also made a little banner using the retired Just Believe set.  I love the font in this sentiment!!

Wish me luck for tomorrow!  I'm always worried, I've mis-cut or mis-packed my kits!!

To make this card:
Stamps: Mosaic Madness & Just Believe
Inks: Strawberry Slush, Cool Cabana & Soft Suede
Papers: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush & Cool Cabana CS
Accessories: Rhinestones, Itty Bitty punch & Mosaic punch
Big Shot: Modern Mosaics Embossing Folder

Hello Lovely

So I've got a theme with the Mosaics happening at the moment.  Just happens to be one of my go-to stamp sets at the moment.  So I really enjoyed making this card using NEW In Colours!

I've used the two new colours of Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar for this card.  They go so well together and with the contrasting Whisper White too.  Love Love Love!!

I think this card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest using this colour combination, I can't quite remember now, as I didn't pin the image :( but the colours, just make me go wow!

I've added some interest to the ornaments, using Itty Bitty punches for the little flowers and adding some gems.  And of course, linen thread always looks great on cards!!

I'm loving the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder too.  Super cute!

To make this card, you need these supplies, all from Stampin' Up! (I love how that SU makes it all coordinate!!):

Stamps: Mosaic Madness & Hello, Lovely
Inks: Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush & Early Espresso (inks & markers)
Papers: Whisper White & Strawberry Slush
Big Shot: Modern Mosaics Embossing Folder
Accessories: Linen Thread, Label Punch, Mosaic Punch, Itty Bitty Punch, gems & dimensionals

More Minions

On Sunday last week I shared my Despicable Me cards I had made for a couple of birthday parties.  My son Matthew loves Despicable Me minions, so when he had yet another party - well I decided to go for the 'evil' minion, the infected minion!  I haven't seen Despicable Me number 2 yet, so I'm looking forward to learning about these guys! My kids tell me this movie is hilarious and better than the first!!

For these 'evil' guys, I followed pretty much the same layout with the card base, adding the colour for the body and decorating as per the Minion way!  The 'evil' guys are purple, so I got to dig into my stash of purple of cardstock which is quite limited (sadly).  This card uses Lavender Lace, a retired colour from Stampin' Up! but still lovely!

The overalls are black and I've used grey brads for the straps this time!  I made the eye exactly the same way as the 'friendly' minions!  Just layered my circle sizes - grey, white, chocolate chip and black, and don't forget to use the white gel pen to add some feature to the eye!

I've used purple wool for the wild hair, and hand cut the mouth and teeth!  Child's play really!

So I hope you enjoyed this little guy too.  My kids sure did!

Christmas Mosaics

So do I dare say the word Christmas when it's only August?  Well, it never hurts to be prepared early (ha ha, like that happens at my house) and sadly, I've started seeing Christmas things starting to appear in the shops.  Subtle they are, a Christmas product strategically placed here and there!

So when I shared the Mosaic Madness stamp set with my stamping friends, I wanted to show that this stamp set is quite versatile.  Use it for any occasion, including Christmas!

You can never have too many Christmas cards, including Christmas gift cards.  So the Mosaic stamp set was a quick way of making stylish Christmas gift cards!!

Mix up your red and green inks, and you have some fantastic colour combinations.  I love this card using Strawberry Slush!

Using the coordinating Mosaic punch makes these cards so easy.  Imagine that stamp, punch and stick!!  Super quick.  Although you can spend a bit of time adding some bling and embellishments.  I've used a rhinestone gem for the Gumball Green ornament and tied a little bit of Bakers Twine on one as well.  So cute!

Make a few, make a stack.  They will be the perfect accessory for your Christmas gifts and you can never start too early for that!!

So here's what I used:

Stamps: Mosaic Madness & Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Inks: Early Espresso, Gumball Green, Strawberry Slush & Raspberry Ripple
Papers: Whisper White CS
Accessories: Ornament punch, Bakers Twine, Rhinestones & Dimensional's

Washi Love

I love Washi tape, and over the next few weeks it's going to become very obvious as I reveal just how much Washi I have in my collection/stash/hidey-hole.  It's so addictive to buy tape in such pretty colour and patterns.  I want them all!

So when Stampin' Up! release their own range of Washi Tape, well I was in love and just couldn't help myself .... especially when they came in the very favourite colours of pink and  yellow!!  Well the technical term would be Gingham Garden Washi Tape! It's Washi Love!

So when I decided to make a card to join a new member to our Avid Inkers SU family, well what a great opportunity to use my new tapes!!  I stamped gorgeous blooms from the Morning Meadow stamp set (an exclusive hostess set).

I love love love the colours of Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Pacific Point.  So bright and so cheery!

I added lots of rhinestone gems too, as all pretty cards need bling and sparkle, and no you can never have enough!!

See I told you the Washi tape in the Gingham Garden range was gorgeous!!

You can get some too - just click on this link and head to my online shop!

Mosaics

Well yesterday's post featuring my Minions cards was really popular.  I don't know if it to do with the bright colours or we just love the movie!  I think I'll have to make some more!  But today's share is a little bit more subdued.  Just a lovely little card featuring the Mosaic Madness produts.  The stamps, the punch and the Embossing Folder.  I love how it all coordinates!

I haven't gone for any particular colour combination for this card.  Just used my stamp pads that were the closest to where I was sitting, namely the In Colours of the last few years!

The Embossing Folder adds real interest to the card and I love how polished it looks!

Yes, this camera angle is on purpose!  I wanted to show just how popping up the little mosaics with Stampin' Dimensionals adds the perfect lift to the Mosaics and make them shine!  I've also added little rhinestones and for the Primrose Petal coloured mosaic, I've also added a little flower punched out with my Itty Bitty punches.  So cute!!

If you want to make this card too, you just need to grab your favourite ink pads and start stamping!  You'll need:

Papers: Whisper White & Midnight Muse CS
Inks: Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit and Marina Mist
Stamps: Mosaic Madness & Feeling Sentimental (SAB)
Cutting Tools: Big Shot & Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Mosaic & Itty Bitty punches
Accessories: Rhinestones, Dimensionals & Embossing Powder

Despicable Me

Golly golly gosh, this has got to be one of the busiest weeks ever, and well this weekend, has just got to be the crazy busy sort.  It's almost coming to an end now and I'm almost relieved so I can recover!

This weekend had two birthday parties for friends of my boys.  So both boys required cards and I got to make some Minions from Despicable Me!  They are so cute and my kids love Minions!!

This one-eyed guy was voted the boy's favourite!  He's cute but I kind of prefer the Minion with the two eyes better!!  So cute!

These cards were super easy to make with the use of punches and glue.  The kids could have made them easily (they were too busy on other projects).  I used herb-cutting scissors to make the hair.  Cuts little strips really quickly and equal width too!

Put both cards together and they do look really cool!

So here's what I used:
Papers: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White & Chocolate Chip CS
Inks: Daffodil Delight & Chocolate Chip
Punches: Various circles and Tag punch
Other: Brads, scissors, white gel pen, sponge daubers and scissors!

These cards were given a big thumbs up by my boys for sure!

Flowery Bouquet

I've had a wonderful time the past few days making a bouquet of flowers!  As much as I adore real flowers, it's lovely in winter to create your own.  So when my friend Emma decided to give these a go at our fortnightly morning tea, I was in!

I have used the new In Colours, with the fabulous and delicious names of Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe, as well as Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar.  Gorgeous colour names aren't they, but we mustn't forget Coastal Cabana either.  It's equally as luscious!

I've added little buttons that I've embossed with gold embossing powder.  I love how the gold takes it to a whole different level!

I can't get enough of these flowers.  In fact I've made a lot more to show another day.  I'm thinking they'll make fabulous adornments for packaging ideas.

Love, Love, Love how the stamps coordinate with the punch.  My favourite sort of coordination!

So here's what we used to make these flowers:

Materials
Papers: Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana & Baked Brown Sugar CS
Inks: Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana & Baked Brown Sugar
Flower centres: Buttons & Gold Embossing Powder, Versamark ink & heat tool
Adhesive: Tombow liquid glue and glue dots.
Tools: Piercing Tool & piercing mat, Bone folder, Scissors, tweezers, beading tools & florist wire

We also learned there is a great tip for matching your stamped images to the punch.  I recommend viewing this YouTube tutorial by Dawn Olchefske.

A Pretty Princess

Well, it's been a week of not visiting my blog very much as I struggle with afternoon shift!!  It still knocks me around even after all these years.  Might have something to do with the not being able to lie in bed all day but having to get up with the kids instead!  Oh well, no real complaints, just limited in computer time!

So it's with great pleasure I show these pic's of the card I made for my niece.  Like all little girls, she loves princesses.  So when I got an idea for a Princess card on Pinterest, well I got to work and made one.  I chose a yellow coloured dress (one of my favourite colours) inspired by Snow White!.

I drew (by hand believe that!!) a dress shape from So Saffron CS and embossed it with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  I cut a piece of white tulle to fit exactly over the skirt of the dress and used glue dots to stick it down at the waist line.

I found some lemony coloured chiffon type ribbon which I used to tie around the dress before adhering the dress to the Whisper White CS card base.  I love white and yellow together - so fresh and crisp too, if that makes sense ;)

I put a little blue gem on the top of the bodice to give it a little extra something.  I then made a matching purse form retired So Safron DSP, cut from the (retired) Tab Punch and the Small Oval Punch.  So cute!

I added a little Birthday banner stamped with the new Coastal Cabana inks and hand cut.  Not too shabby a cut if I do say so myself.  The greeting is from the Banner Greetings card set.

Thanks for visiting my page.  I hope you like my card inspired by designs on Pinterest.  And most importantly, I hope my gorgeous niece likes her card!!
