Bloomin' Thanks

I had a moment of reflection today.  With a bit of remembering and looking up on the computer, I realised I joined Stampin' Up! in July 2008.  I was still home on maternity leave with Matthew and was spending enough on stamps that it was suggested to me to join to receive the discount :)  So I did.  And now almost five years later, I've become part of a wonderful team of girls, have a team of my own and have met so many lovely customers, demonstrators and more who have now become my friends.

So it's with much pleasure, that I try to send thank you cards to all my customers after they've placed an order with me.  I've not yet sent my January thank you cards, but I've made a whole bunch of them, ready for sending.  So of course, I decided to use a card I found on Pinterest to which I adapted with the Sale-a-Bration Bloomin' Marvellous stamp set!

These three cards were my choice of styling.

The card with the pink butterfly is based on the original design.  Funnily enough, all I did was sponge Pretty in Pink ink over an already cut and embossed little butterfly in Very Vanilla.  Very Vanilla didn't do any justice on the white background, so sponging fixed that one!  Little pearls of course just had to be added.

Butterflies stamped with Cool Caribbean ink from the Bloomin' Marvellous stamp set (love Sale-a-Bration!!)

This little bird, who I think is a hummingbird, is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  I've adhered the bird so that the wings, tail and beak lift up from the page.

So these are my January's thank you cards.  I hope you like them.  The original card can be found here.

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Daydream Medallions, Bloomin' Marvellous (Sale-a-Bration) & So Happy for You
Inks: Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry & Cool Caribbean
Papers: Whisper White & Very Vanilla CS
Other: Big Shot, Precious Butterflies Embosslit, Sponge Dauber & Pearls

It's a Bloomin' Year!

So?  Have you checked out the new Sale-a-Bration catalogue yet?  It's full of so many new products, I just don't know where to start.  Luckily I have a couple of things from Sale-a-Bration to get me started.

And seeing it is January, well just with only a few days left, I thought it was the perfect time to get my 2013 calendar started!!

So.  You might notice lots of Sale-a-Bration products there.  Shall I count thy ways?  I've used papers, stamps and buttons.  So cute aren't they.

This calendar just happens to be one of my Sale-a-Bration make & takes for next week.  Stay tuned for more details on that one!!

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Bloomin' Marvelous (Sale-a-Bration)
Inks: Summer Starfruit, Pool Party, Rich Razzlebery, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso
Papers: Whisper White CS & Sycamore Street (Sale-a-Bration) DSP
Other: Sponge daubers, rhinestones, Whisper White bakers twine, Big Shot & Sycamore Street Button & Ribbon Pack

And I don't really want to think about, but I'll be turning over that calendar page to the next month....

Very Soft Ripple Butterfly - CC408

OK, this is the very last of my botanical butteflies series of posts.  But I just had one more to show.  The previous two posts here and here used Whisper White, but today I decided to have a go with the Very Soft Ripple Colour Challenge (CC408).

This challenge card required the use of three colours: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede & Raspberry Ripple.  Sounds yummy already!!

This time I've used Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped with Soft Suede and Raspberry Ripple.  Instead of bling, I've added pearls which go much better with Very Vanilla.  Again I've used a doily die cut sponged and feature machine stitching around the card.  I hope you like my challenge card!!

Just so you can see the colours I was required to use:

OK.  Time for new projects now :)

Butterfly Love - Part 2

Well a few days ago, I showed a couple of my butterfly cards using shades of pinks and purples.  Both of these were clean and simple, and the second card was stepped up - just a bit.  Click on this link to see my first lot of cards!

And so, I loved these cards so much, I kept on adding a bit more and a bit more to get my final version.  Today I can show you!  Sale-a-bration news is a very important interruption you know!!

So let me introduce you to my Butterflies in Blues card.  It's still very botanical isn't it!!  This time, I've added a rhinestone  to each butterfly and I've used double bakers twine and tied off into a bow.  It's so cute!

I've used the colours of Soft Sky, Cool Caribbean, Marina Mist & Pacific Point.  But it didn't stop here!!  I had to add something more to step it up again!!

I've added a doily die cut on this one which I've sponged very lightly with Crumb Cake ink.  I stamped my butterflies in Real Red and Soft Suede.  I love these Papillion Potpourri stamps.  LOVE!!

Again, I've continued on with the bling and tying of double bows.  I still love these cards and in fact, have one more to show.  Tomorrow though, ........

Stamps: Papillion Potpourri & Happiest Birthday Wishes
Inks: Early Espresso, Real Red & Soft Suede OR Early Espresso, Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Cool Caribbean & Pacific Point
Papers: Whisper White CS
Other: Butterfly Punch, Rhinestones, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Sewing Machine & Big Shot/Doily die.

Butterfly Love

So continuing on with my butterflies, I promptly ordered myself the Papillon Potpourri stamp set when the new catalogue came out.  Couldn't resist.  It was full of lovely butterflies and had a punch to match.  Perfect.  Match made in heaven, really.

So smacks for me, I have only just used these to make some really pretty cards.  I've created these cards, as a step it up process. Starting with clean and simple:

Ooohhh, the picture quality is a bit second rate, but I've used a Whisper White card matt layered on top of a Whisper White card base.  I did go a bit fancy though and added a border of sewing/stitching.  With a sewing machine even!!  I've stamped and punched my butterflies and added them to my page and of course, they're birthday cards.  And need to say, Happy Birthday!

It makes me feel all botanical or should I say entomologist, when I lay my butterflies out this way!!

I used the colours of Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Pretty in Pink & Melon Mambo.  Cute pinks!!

I've then stepped up the layout, by tying some White bakers twine around the card.  Just adds a bit of something I think.

This time I've gone for shades of purple: Almost Amethyst, Wisteria Wonder, Purely Pomegranate & Rich Razzleberry.  Quite striking aren't they!

Tomorrow I will share even more stepped up versions of this card.  I love them :)

Technique Time - Polished Stone

Oh my goodness!  I was archiving files today (trying to do the right thing, moving on from 2012 to 2013) when I saw a bunch of photos of the last lot of Technique Cards I sent to the girls in my team.

And shock horror, I hadn't shared these here on the blog.  I know I wasn't going to share them straight away as I wanted to make sure they had made their way in mail world.  But then I moved onto new things and forgot.  I didn't make resolutions this year, but maybe I should.  I'm so forgetful sometimes :{

So here they are.  These are cool little results of this technique and really pretty.  I think I made some into cards.  I will have to check, as I'm sure I made one in brown's for a male card, possibly my husband???  Hmmm, that memory of mine.....

The darker card shows off the Delicate Doily that I had stamped and embossed in white absolutely beautifully.  I wish I remembered the colours now.  These blues are so pretty, and I think I've used Almost Amethyst too.  I know I used Pacific Point, Cool Caribbean as well but I can't remember what other blues now.

The darker image was my first attempt and as I progressed, I quickly learned not to over saturate it too much.

And I think it's amazing how unique each one is.  There is no wrong here, as each colour-way depends on how much or how little ink and rubbing alcohol you use!

You can join in on the techniques too - either by joining in with my team or following some of the tutorials over at Splitcoast Stampers.  Like this one - the Polished Stone Technique!

Flutter on By

So welcome back to my blog and back to regular (well as regular as I can manage!!) posting.  We are back and incredibly relaxed from the week at the coast.  So now with the hot weather upon us, the air conditioners on, I've been able to find a few moments to create cards again.  Mainly when Jess is sleeping and not trying to sit on top of me to play with it all!!

So I had to share a cute little card I made for a girl's birthday party.  It was so fun to make birthday cards for girls, usually I'm making them for the boys!!

Isn't the little butterfly cute!  I used lots of punches on her including the wings which  I had stamped first.

I have finished off the card with a chipboard number 5, coloured with sponged ink and coated in purple glitter glue.  I've used a piece of organza ribbon to tie around for interest.  The silver edges of the ribbon  matched so perfectly!!

So here's what I used:

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Sentiments & You are Loved
Inks: Almost Amethyst & Early Espresso
Papers: Whisper White, Basic Black, Concord Crush & Wisteria Wonder
Other: Ribbon, Chipboard numbers, bling & Early Espresso Marker
Punches: Circle, Heart & Word Window

So flutter on by and I'll be back soon with even more butterflies!!
