Those pegs!

A couple of weekends ago, I attended the Stampin' Up! Regional Training here in Canberra.  Yep, it's a couple of weeks ago - time has been crazily busy while slipping by so quickly.  One of those reasons might have to do with the President of the USA arriving here in Canberra today.  Yep that's kept me busy.  Very busy.  Long days with very early starts and late finishes!  But if his visit is a success, then it's all worthwhile.  So now you know the reason of my absence .... now I can get to the good part!

At the Regional Training, I was nicknamed the Peg Lady.  Sounds awful doesn't it?  But really, everyone was trying to get one of my peg swaps, and of course, sometimes  you're known more for your swap then who you are!!  So without further ado, here they are:

I only made a dozen or so of these, as I quickly ran out of my gorgeous Crumb Cake seam binding.  I had used the seam binding for our Christmas stamp camp, which didn't leave me much left over!  So I had one for my team of girls (Avid Inkers) and as many as I could swap with!

I used my Many Merry Messages stamp set for the Noel sentiment.  This stamp set is PERFECT for Christmas, absolutely PERFECT!  I used embossed cardstock, the Contempo Christmas stamp set and teh Ornament punch.  A bit of DSP (Letters to Santa) and Seam Binding, and it was done.  A quick project to make once you mastered stamping on a curved surface!

This idea was inspired by the lovely work of Stamping Mathilda, one of my favourite blogs to visit!

Do you remember???

Do you remember the good-ol' bag-a-lope?  You know the one, the envelope made into a bag? With all the gorgeous products out in blog-land it's sometimes hard to go back to basics that many of us (including me) learned as a beginner, new to the world of stamping and papercraft!  It's a great standby project and was just perfect for my guest gifts at our Stamp Camp held last month.  My A5 sized envelope made a perfect sized bag for holding the envelopes to match the cards that were made during stamp camp!

I used retired Christmas DSP to both decorate the card and to make the rolled roses to decorate the front.  A few bits of bling and some bakers twine and the bags were just what I needed!

I used the Many Merry Messages stamp along the bottom of the bag.  That stamp set has to be one of the most versatile Christmas stamp sets ever!

You might have noticed these wooden pegs.  Yes,  I also made these as a gift to my guests.  More info on these will follow on a later post!

Colouring In!

Don't you just love colouring in?  I do, and will always happily sit with my kids and their colouring books!  So I jumped at the chance to do a Copic class at the local Craft Shop!  Copics are a different type of marker to the Stampin' Up! ones so I got to learn a new technique as well as colour, shade and complementary colour theory!

This first card is the one I made in the class, although the Birthday sentiment uses the 'So Happy For You' stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Needing a birthday card for a little girl tomorrow I had to make another card just for her.  So using the same card and essentially the same layout, I set to work using a spare little girl I had already coloured in!  Here she is:

Other than the ribbon (it was the only purple I had on hand) all products used to make the card are of course Stampin' Up!  I used the really cute colour combination of Pear Pizzazz and Night of Navy.  I've just realised I forgot to put the 4 on the card before taking a photo.  Doh!!

Stampin' Up! products I have used:

Stamps: So Happy for You (SAB set now retired)
Inks: Basic Black
Papers: Whisper White, Night of Navy & Pear Pizzazz CS, Pear Pizzazz DSP
Other: Jewels, Scallop Border Punch & Doily Triple Layer Punch

Happy Birthday Eleanor!  I have a very excited little boy who can't wait for the party tomorrow!!
