One More

Just sneaking in with one more flower card made with the Button Buddies set.  This card is a smaller size, more like a gift card and at the moment it has no sentiment.  I'll add it when I decide what the card will be used for!!

This time I've used Textured Whisper White cardstock for the base and used polka dot embossing folder with the Big Shot for interest!

This card is quite versatile and could be used for many occasions.  I like that!

Here's what I used:

Stamps: Button Buddies
Papers: Whisper White (Smooth & Textured), Old Olive and Early Espresso
Other: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Button, Crochet Thread and Mini Glue Dots/Stampin' Dimensionals.

More Buttons!

I did promise, and I do try to deliver!!  Although I have to admit, sometimes not in my most timely of ways.  But this time, I'm back with some more cards using the Button Buddies set (you remember, the one not yet available in Australia but coming soon ......).  This time I tried the same stamp, the flower stamp with lots of random stamping, but using different colour combo's.  I'm happy with both combo's actually, they both look good!

This card uses Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Blushing Pink & Pumpkin Pie.  Although you really don't see much different between Rose Red & Melon Mambo (oh well).

I've used Peach Parfait and Melon Mambo cardstock and added some Whisper White Organza Ribbon.  So cute!  I've added two buttons from the Designer Big Buttons range in Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo (only available until 31 July 2011).  They look so cute and I love how one of the buttons is sitting on top of the ribbon.  Different, but good!

This combo uses Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Early Espresso.  They go great together and I quite like this colour combo now!!

I've added a bit of interest with this card by using DSP in Old Olive from the Jolly Holiday range and cut my stamped focal paper into three pieces.  I then trimmed a Daffodil Delight flower and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals over one of the Daffodil Delight flowers underneath.

And don't you love the Daffodil Delight button???  So bright and cheerful and also from that Designer Big Buttons pack.  I might have to buy some more .....

A Cherry on Top

On Monday night, we had our Avid Inkers night (our Stampin' Up! team).  It's a night for sharing, creating, enjoying and planning for future events.  Two of the girls brought their Button Buddies stamp set along for a play.  This is a stamp set they received at the Australian Stampin' Up! convention back in May.  I didn't get to go, but I am enjoying what they made.  This set has recently been released in the American new SU Catalogue and I'm pretty sure that it will soon be released here.  It's so cute!

This is just one of the cards we made, using the Cherries stamp.  I love it and of course immediately had to make a card based on one I had seen earlier:

Here's what  used:

Stamps: Button Buddies and Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Papers: Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White CS and Jolly Holiday DSP
Inks: Old Olive, Early Espresso & Real Red
Other: Crystal Effects (on the leaf), buttons, white crochet thread, Word Window Punch, Mat Pack & Paper Piercing Tool, Mini Glue Dots and Big Shot with Circles #2 Die.

There's quite a few stamps in this set, just see for yourself (pic taken from US Catalogue):

So you'll see a few more cards over coming days ....

And here's the card that inspired me in the first place - click here and you'll see a cute little technique while you're there too - to make the card a moving card!

Birthday Share Part 2

I've got some more birthday card goodness to share!  Told you I was a lucky girl!

By Kerri - I love the bright colours!

From Cheryl - my dad's wife.  So cute!
I have even more cards to show and tell, but I have to take photos first!  Of course, I don't know where my camera is.  My husband keeps nicking it to take photos of his Torana (the one he's working on from scratch).  Surely my cards are more important then his car!!  But at least we both have hobbies that don't require the same work space!!

A Birthday Share

Over the next few days, I'm going to share with you just some of the beautiful handmade cards I received for my birthday.  I'm such a lucky girl, that I actually got more handmade cards then 'store bought' cards, including my favourite cards ever from my kids that made me cards at school!!

So while I finish up on my projects that I will share later this week, here are some beautiful cards I can showcase from my very talented friends!

From my lovely friend Annette - all Stampin' Up!

This is just the envelope for .....
A beautiful Japanese inspired card made by very clever Allysa

And I love this gorgeous card from my close friend Trudy!
I told you I was a lucky girl.  And these are just today's selection of cards that I've got to show off!

A late calendar page

Just popping in with a late blog post.  It's Sunday night, almost 11pm and so farewell to the last two weeks of holidays and hello back to school and normal routine!!  Luke's said that school's back in session, me too.  Although school holidays is not a terribly productive craft time for me as I have three kids to entertain, but I do have a few projects to show over the next few days!!

But today, I wanted to show my July Calendar page (which of course, is late for show and tell again).  Old habits die hard don't they!!  This page matches my Special Elements of Style Workshop!  Same colours, almost exactly same layout with a tiny bit of tweaking!

I hope you enjoy!!  Have a lovely night and see you tomorrow :0)

Hair Clips & Pillow Boxes

I have three gorgeous nieces that I love to create for.  And even though I have a little girl of my own now to make and pamper, my three nieces hold a special place in my heart (as do my sons and nephews of course) for creating.  I've made them all some little hair clips.  I might have shown them before, but I finally finished them by sticking them to the actual hairclip LOL!!  I then made little pillow boxes to package them in.  So cute!!

I used Flower Fusion felt flowers with a little white brad.  They're so cute in these bright colours, so I just had to put them in a brightly coloured Melon Mambo pillow box!

I've used Window Sheets for this little box and added a layer of Subtles DSP (pretty in pink) to add some highlighting to the otherwise clear box.  I've stamped my butterfly onto Regal Rose CS and coloured all over with Champagne Mist shimmer paint.  So pretty!

The butterfly from the Strength & Hope stamp set is so cute and it's just one of the lovely stamps from the Strength & Hope stamp set, where $2 will be donated by Stampin' Up! to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for every set sold.  I love that!

Special Elements of Style Workshop

This week, I'll be running a special workshop with a few of my friend's kids (as well as my own) to make their very own special and personalised picture frames.  Using subtle shades of pinks and purples (or more male-orientated colours for the boys), embellishments and some stamping if desired, they'll make their picture frame their very own!

Using the Lap of Luxury Designer Series Papers and the Elements of Style stamp set, I've made my own picture frame (now I just need a photo to put in it!).  The frame came together beautifully, even when I couldn't make up my mind which bird to use or where to put the flowers!!  See for yourself:

This workshop is also available as a Stamp @ Home kit for the very special price of $25  (no further discounts will apply).  Price includes the frame, papers and the bird cage & flower die cuts.

Strength & Hope Class now available

Hooray, after much delay and drama - the Strength & Hope class is now available.  I'm not going to bore you with the details, but I can give you some of the details of the class.

Firstly, the Strength & Hope stamp set has been introduced by Stampin' Up! to support the research into breast cancer.  Stampin' Up! will donate $2 per Strength & Hope set purchased to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).  BCRF is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide.  For more infomation about BCRF, visit www.bcrfcure.org

With this Stamp @ Home kit, you'll make the two cards featured in the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue:

as well as two more cards and a little treat box, perfect for small gifts!

Vintage Vogue

Last year, my most favourite stamp set was Vintage Vogue.  Funny that, I've not used it in months (maybe even all year), so when I saw a set of cards in blogland, I decided to give it a try using Vintage Vogue and my favourite colour of Melon Mambo!!

Melon Mambo goes beautifully with Baja Breeze don't you think!  It really made this vintage styled stamp set all modern with these colours too!

This card uses a touch of bling (basic pearls) and I found some Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon in my stash of retired ribbons.  I knew it would come in useful!!

Sometimes, every day items become embellishments too!  I had finished my little set of 'Clips Assortment' from Stampin' Up! so I used a trusty paperclip instead!!

So here's what I used:

Stamps: Vintage Vogue
Papers: Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake & Melon Mambo
Inks: Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake & Chocolate Chip
Embellishments: Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Border Punch, Pearls, Paper Clips
Other: Big Shot & Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers & Stampin' Dimensionals

So maybe this will inspire you to pull out some of your dusty stamps and give them a go with a fresh lot of colours.  Just like I was inspired by the work of Alisa Tilsner.  You might recall I love her work!

A Baby Bundle

A friend of mine (who I happen to work with too which is cool) had a baby girl a couple of weeks ago.  We've often been on maternity leave at the same time, as we both have 8 year old boys and we both have 3 1/2 year olds.  But this time I returned to work from maternity leave just as she was on maternity leave.  I should also say she has four versus my three, but we both love kids so that's ok!

Anyway, while surfing blogland I saw a card made with the cute Baby Bundle stamp set that I've only used once or twice (shock horror).  So here's my version in pink!

I stamped the pram on a a piece of Subtles (Pink Pirouette) DSP and then used my Blender pen for lots of colouring in!!

And if you're wondering, I also made a little crochet hat for baby Ellie.  Using Bamboo cotton yarn, it's oh so soft!

To make my card, I used:

Stamps: Baby Bundle
Inks: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Pixie Pink & Pear Pizzazz, Jet Black StazOn
Papers: Whisper White & Regal Rose CS, Subtles DSP
Other: Circle & Scallop Eyelet Border Punches, blender pen & a little pearl for bling!

So go on over and visit the Stamping with Paula website.  Lots of great ideas, especially cards for kids!

Up & Away

Up, up and away!  Does that make you start singing to yourself?  It does for me, a very old song actually :0)

Anyway, I saw this card in one of the Craft Stamper magazines and thought I had to just make it myself.  The magazine came with a free stamp set to make it, but I just couldn't get the stamp set to stamp cleanly.  The free stamps were the acrylic cling on stamps, which I hate actually.  That's why I LOVE Stampin' Up! stamps, they just stamp beautifully!

So with a bit of punches, adding lines and colour.  I made my version. I hope you like it, and I hope my nephew Aaron likes it too, one of the cards is for him actually!!

I hope you like your card Aaron, here's what I used:

Inks: Chocolate Chip
Papers: Soft Suede, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White CS and Bashful Blue DSP
Other: Circle punches, Curly Label Punch and brads
