Every Moment

This blog post is a long time in the making!  Not because it took me a long time to write, but it took me AGES to finish the projects to show!!  These projects are from the Canberra regional Stampin' Up! training day that I attended LAST year!!  Jessica was only a little thing and now she's almost a year old.

I don't know why it took me so long to finish these projects.  Maybe because I made them at the training day, but when I went go pack up and go home, all had vanished.  Disappeared.  Never seen again!!  The lovely staff of Stampin' Up! gave me some new kits which have sat here at home just waiting for the right moment.  And about two weeks ago, I had that day.  Sunday afternoon with the girls, just making cards!  But then I never got around to showing!!  Smacks for me!  So here they are:

There is actually one more project - a 6" x 6" scrap layout, but I haven't added the photo yet, so it's a little bit incomplete!!

So here's what I used:

Stamps: Every Moment
Papers: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Old Olive CS & Watercolour paper
Inks: Black StazOn, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red and Daffodil Delight

We had fun at Stamp Camp

Saturday afternoon was a cracker.  Eighteen lovely ladies including myself (!) played along with the Natural Elegance Stamp Camp at Lake Ginninderra College in Belconnen.  With a double room AND the staff room to ourselves, we had wonderful facilities and lots of room to create.

..... well all the lovely ladies did.  I was so tired from lack of sleep (due to a sick child) that I gave myself the job of being the 'flower fluff' maker and the passing out of bits person.  Worked well with my wonderful supervision (LOL!!!).

We also celebrated a birthday for one of the girls, with a yummy homemade chocolate cake decorated with all Stampin' Up! supplies.  How cool was that!  Not my creation, but one I adored and loved to eat too!

And it's not too late to join in on the fun of our Natural Elegance Stamp Camp.  You can do this one at home as a Stamp @ Home kit.  Contact me now for more info!

A few more calendar pages!

I'm way behind on showing my calendar pages. Again.  May is almost finished, April is well and truly over and I haven't even made June's page yet!!  Yep, it's busy times.  It's now 12 months since I've been on maternity leave, another 12 months that flew by so incredibly fast.  So it's no wonder I'm behind on showing my calendar pages.  Where did that year go?  Jessica is almost a year old now and I'm back to work on Monday.  Ho hum.
Happily I can report that I'm returning three days a week, so I still get two days at home with my babies!!

So without any further ado, here are my calendar pages.  I'll start with April first (I much prefer this one):

This card uses a few different elements for me.  I've used the Elements of Style stamp set.  A new stamp set for me, but one I've been wanting since I first saw it.  I've used a strip of the Sunny Garden DSP and I made a ribbon flower using the burnt ribbon technique.

Stamps: Elements of Style
Papers: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze & Peach Parfait CS and Sunny Garden DSP
Inks: Baja Breeze & Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip
Other: Daffodil Delight Satin ribbon, beads & Stampin' Dimensionals

OK, here's my effort for May:

I've used a water-colouring technique here, which is the feature of the June Stamp @ Home kit.  It looks very crooked in this photo :(  Oh well, too late to change!

Stamps: Growing Green & French Script
Papers: Whisper White, Subtles patterned DSP and Watercolour paper
Inks: Soft Suede, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze & Daffodil Delight

Other: Jewels

I guess I had better start thinking about June!!

Chocolate Anyone???

It's so exciting!  We've got Stamp Camp this Saturday and preparation is in earnest now!! Including making a few gifts.  Just so happens one of my lovely friends (aka customer) is celebrating her birthday this weekend and I needed a couple little door prizes too.  I've got one of those big Cadbury's fund raiser boxes at home (damn thing, I'm sure we'll be the only ones buying from it) and decided to dress up some of the bars of chocolate and make them all pretty!!

Of course, I had to make one of those chocolate slider boxes that I keep seeing in blog land. So after a quick google search, I found this awesome site Qbee's Quest.  It's great!  Full of templates, techniques and tutorials.  Love it!!

Sure makes chocolate look prettier (not that it really needed any prettying!!).  I changed the dimensions from Qbee Quest to 17cm x 17cm, scored at 1.5cm, score another 6.5cm from this, score 1.5cm and another 6.5cm.  I then scored along one edge all the way across at 1.5cm to form the bottom edge.  Cut out the little notches and sticky strip in place.  LOVE sticky strip!  I found some Chocolate Ribbon and made some matching bakers twine to tie off at the end!  I used Melon Mambo ink to stamp chocolate all over before assembling!!

So here's what I used:
Stamps: Eat Chocolate
Inks: Soft Suede and Melon Mambo
Papers: Melon Mambo, Soft Suede and Whisper White CS
Other: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon, handmade bakers twine, sticky strip, Window punch & pearls

Now I had better make some more for those other bars of chocolate before they get eaten too!!!
Too easy and I love it!!

Butterflies!

I had so much fun with the colours I was playing with over the weekend, that I made a little birthday card using bits and pieces that I had left over.  Love putting scrap bits to good use!!  So I used one of my fave Sale-a-Bration 2011 sets - Bliss!

I love this card and it's already on it's way to my friend wishing her a happy birthday!!  So I hope she enjoys!

To make this card I used my own handmade bakers twine PLUS the following products from Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Bliss & Teeny Tiny Sentiments, French Script
Papers: Soft Suede, Whisper White & Baja Breeze CS, Baja Breeze DSP
Inks: Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight & Certainly Celery
Other: Scallop Border Punch, Word Window Punch, Baja Breeze ribbon, sponges, daubers, Dazzling Diamond Glitter & 2-Way Glue Pen

Time for a Challenge!!

Now that I've found my stamping mojo again, I thought it might be a great idea to participate in the online challenges out there.  One of my favourite turn-to blogs for challenges is Just Add Ink.  They have both sketch and colour challenges.... I love the colour challenges!

This week's challenge is the Sketch Challenge - JAI 67.  I quite liked this challenge, so I decided to give it a try!

As I had the Every Moment stamp set lying open on my craft table, I decided it would be the perfect stamp set to use for a birthday card!  I changed the aspect from portrait to landscape and used my own interpretation of the elements.

I used some handmade twine in matching Soft Suede to tie around each major element and used a pearl for the 'button' element.  I had a lot of fun water-colouring this one.  I love this as a colouring technique - so relaxing!!

So here's what I used:

Stamps: Every Moment
Inks: Black StazOn, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze & Daffodil Delight
Papers: Watercolour paper, Whisper White & Bashful Blue
Other: Handmade twine, pearls, sponges, Aqua-painter brush and Stampin' Dimensionals

Happy Mother's Day

To all the mum's out there, and especially my mum, Happy Mother's Day!

I had a lovely day with my amazing family but had to send my Mother's Day thoughts to my mum over in Holland.  So of course, I had to make her a special card.  I pulled out one of my 'old' stamp sets featuring one of her favourite flowers, the rose.  Roses are special, just like my mum!

As you can see, I've pulled out the retired papers of Bella Rose which coordinate perfectly with the 'A rose is a rose' stamp set.  With a bit of pink, a bit of green and a bit of bling, the card was done!

And yes, this card is over-sized to your standard A5 size, but it was the best way to highlight both the stamped focal image and the Bella Rose papers.  So Happy Mother's Day mum, I hope you enjoy your card!

Stamps: A rose is a Rose (retired) & Occasional Greetings
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red & Pink Pirouette
Papers: Whisper White (textured) CS, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss & Bella Rose DSP
Other: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Scallop Border Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, pearls, sponge daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals & hole piercing tool
