More Crush with Pizzazz!

Just thought I would sneak in with another card I made today using the very cool colour combination: "Crushing the Bashful with Pizzazz! It's my last post for a few days while I take a Easter/School Holiday break to spend time with my family!

I still don't have any Bashful Blue cardstock or inks, but I did manage to find a strip of Bashful Blue DSP, so I managed to scrape in with the colours using the Blessed Mother stamp set.

This card is quite simple but in my words .... oh so elegant.  It's already on it's way as a birthday card to a friend!!  No slacking for me, even if it is holidays!!

Here's what I used:

Stamps: Blessed Mother & Well Scripted
Papers: Whisper White & Concord Crush CS and Bashful Blue DSP
Inks: Concord Crush & Pear Pizzazz
Other: Pear Pizzazz ribbon, tiny piece of narrow Old Olive ribbon, Scallop Border Trim Punch, Sticky Strip and Pearls

See you in a week or so .... please stay safe this holiday period!

Sesame Street Time!

I wanted to make a birthday card for a special little boy who's turning one.  I didn't want anything too babyish but I wanted something cute but suitable for a one year old.  So who to turn to?  Well, Sesame Street of course.  Using various punch art designs I've seen over the years - I made this very quick card.  A few cuts, a few punches and a bit of glue-sticking and it was done.  The card is almost stamp-free for all the non-stampers out there!!

All you need are some nice bright pieces of cardstock and various punches.  I used the mega-cool owl punch for the whites & blacks of the eyes.  How handy is that!! The owl punch makes eyes the right size!

I'm not sure who is my favourite, although I do like the beak of Big Bird.  It's a small oval cut out, folded in half!!

I'm not sure what colours I used as they were all from my scraps basket but I'm sure you get the idea!  I used the Scallop Circle Punch, 1" circle punch, Owl Punch & Small Oval punch.  A bit of glue stick here and there and done!

For some of my favourite Stampin' Up! blogs with punch art and other 3D art, head on over to Stamp-n-Design and Stamping Elephants.  These blogs inspire my punch art. You'll be instantly amazed and inspired at the same time!

Crushing Bashful with Pizzazz!!

Crushing Bashful with Pizzazz???  I can hear you saying "What!!".  It's just the name of the latest Colour Combination challenge I am participating in!!  So Crushing would be Concord Crush, Bashful Blue and Pear Pizzazz!  See, much easier now!  I used my 'reverse twisted easel template' to create this card.  The Twisted Easel Template is a cool twist on the popular Easel cards, I just added a reverse twist!  Not sure if I can explain how, I think it depends on whether you do a landscape fold or a portrait fold!!

I did use Baja Breeze instead of Bashful Blue though as I'm ashamed to say I didn't have any Bashful Blue.  How did that happen I wonder!!  I also made "a burnt flower" with some matching ribbon!!  I sewed on some tiny little seed beads in the middle of the flower (not that you can see them :( but they're there!).

So here's what I used:

Stamps: Clearly for You
Papers: Whisper White, Concord Crush & Baja Breeze CS and Greenhouse Gala DSP
Inks: Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa and Basic Black
Other: Copics, ribbon, Scallop Oval & Large Oval punch and Stampin' Dimensionals

Christening Thanks

I can safely show off these Christening thank you cards I made for all our lovely friends and family who shared Jessica's Christening with us.  It was a great day, great food, great company and we were honoured with so many beautiful cards and gifts.  So I had to make some thank you cards to show how much we appreciated it all.

I needed to make some cards that were simple, yet elegant and fast (always a good thing when you have lots to make!).  Inspired by a Dawn Griffith card, I used my Big Shot and a few pearls for embellishments.  What do you think???

So I hope everyone has received their card in the mail .... otherwise here is your sneak peek!!

Here's what I used:
Stamps: So happy for you (SAB 2011)
Inks: Close to Cocoa & Pink Pirouette
Papers: Whisper White & Pretty in Pink CS, Pretty in Pink patterned DSP (from Subtles pack)
Big Shot: Polka Dots Embossing Folder & Simple Flower Embosslit
Other: Pearls & Sponge Daubers

Anyway, I would love to show off more projects but I'll have to wait till later in the week.  Unfortunately my family have all come down with the stomach flu and I was only able to spare 5 minutes to pop in and say hi!!

Sometimes

... Sometimes it's hard to make a card.  Especially when it's a sympathy card for the loss of a loved one.  And such was this, a card for my Aunty and Uncle on the passing of my cousin a short while ago.  At only 24 years of age, it was the news that we had never expected.  Families are precious to me and it was a shock to us all.  So sometimes, yes it's  hard to make a card, sometimes it's even harder to write the words in the card.  And sometimes, it's just hard.  So I'm sharing this card to show that sometimes when it all seems difficult, making a card for a loved one helps.

I've used quite a few stamp sets for this card, including Easter Blossoms and Blessed Mother from the Summer Mini (now retired) to name a few.  I've used the large Baroque Motif stamp as a background stamp, with Pear Pizzazz ink.  You'll notice in the next picture it's not that dark as the coordinating cardstock.  That's because I stamped it first on a scrap piece of paper, as I just wanted a faint image.

Here's what I used:

Stamps: Easter Blossoms, Blessed Mother, Baroque Motifs and Thoughts & Prayers
Papers: Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black and Whisper White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red & Old Olive
Other: Pear Pizzazz ribbon, Big Shot & Framed Tulips Embossing Folder

Rest in Peace Adrian....
