It's still hot - so use cool colours!

It's so hot! While we are not experiencing the high temperatures of Melbourne and Adelaide, Canberra too is in the middle of the heat wave. It really makes it difficult to want to sit down and play at your craft table when your hands are hot and sticky. It's now after 11pm and the air-con is still on. The nights are not really cooling down - so the house isn't cooling down either!

Today I was inspired by a card I saw in an old Stampin' Up! brochure. The SU! example used browns and greens, but I much preferred my colour combination of blues and browns. They are cool colours too (and by cool, I mean in relation to the temperature! Or more specifically cool vs. warm tones!) and I love them so much - I have been playing with lots of ideas - if only the weather would let me sit down and play! So here it is.... Even my Wonderful Husband liked this one!

Stamps
: Polka Dot Punches

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip

Papers: Stampin' Up! Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip & DSP- Afternoon Tea

Other: Buttons & Taffeta Ribbon (non SU), Scallop Circle Punch & Circle Punch (SU)

Tip: Use Stampin' Up!s glue dots to stick your buttons down! Inside the card I have adhered whisper white paper so that you can actually write inside the card!

There are a couple of things I should mention with this card! The taffeta ribbon in this shade of blue is not from Stampin' Up!. Stampin' Up! have beautiful ribbons (and I really love them) including taffeta ribbon unfortunately not in the shade I have used for this card. The colour is actually not quite blue but not a green tone either - but it matches the Afternoon Tea DSP perfectly (I took a swatch of the papers into my local sewing shop to match!).

Also .... the Polka Dot Punches stamp set is one of the exclusive sets featured in the current Sale-A-Bration catalogue and when this special offer finishes, they won't be available again! If you love this stamp set (and yes - it's gorgeous!) - contact me now to put in an order of $100 or more to get your own free and exclusive set!

That's all from me today. Must be about bed time I suppose!

Simple Cards today - it's hot!

It sure was a hot day today - a great day for staying out of the hot sun and being indoors near the air-conditioning vents! A scorcher it was, and it's after 10pm now at night and still warm. Another restless night for sleeping I think. As you may have guessed - I am still working afternoon shift and have only just got home. The kids are still awake (too restless) and the air conditioning is still on. And this is only January - we've still got February to get through yet and February is always hot!

Anyway, the other day I made a card suitable for the males in your life using the Embrace Life set and the Afternoon Designer Series Papers (DSP) and I wondered if I could adapt it for the girls. Well here it is. I tried to keep it as alike as I could and only changed a few things, like the actual Afternoon Tea DSP print and the embellishments. I like it. Both are simple in design but certainly suitable for those that don't like fussy cards and the like!

This is the project recipe for the "Girl" card. To find the details for the "Male" card visit my entry on Sunday 25 January 2009!

Stamps: Embrace Life & Short and Sweet

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip & Garden Galore

Papers: Stampin' Up! Groovy Guava, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip & DSP- Afternoon Tea

Other: Buttons & Dew Drops (non SU)

Tip: Use Stampin' Up!s glue dots to stick your buttons down!

Anyway, that's it for now. The kids are still awake - so I had better go and see if I can settle them. Wish tomorrow was going to be cooler :)

How was your Australia Day?

So how did you spend your Australia Day? We took BBL to the Museum and enjoyed the Australia Day festivities there. It was a really good day to go visit the displays of Australia past and reminisce about some of the icons we remember. I loved looking at the Australian Cook Book display, the caravan and the kitchen from the 1970s. It takes you back! BBL especially loved anything to do with dinosaurs and animals! Makes you glad to be Australian and enjoy our multicultural flavours and background. I love my Dutch connection!

Speaking of connections!!! I am going to connect with a friend and a birthday card I popped in the post last night! What do you think of this card? It uses minimal stamping and relies on punches and folding techniques instead. Clever!

Stamps: Embrace Life & Short and Sweet

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip & Blush Blossom

Papers: Stampin' Up! River Rock, Apricot Appeal, Groovy Guava & DSP- Ginger Blossom

Other: Stampin' Up! small tag punch, scallop edge punch, circle & hole punches, white gel ink pen & button (non SU)

Tip: Use strong adhesives to glue this one down - such as Stampin' Up!s glue dots!

Yes, yes I know - it doesn't use this week's focus .................... which is by the way ....................... At the moment I am enjoying my Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin' Up! And yep, you guessed it - that's my focus this week. The gorgeous Afternoon Tea papers.

But I will excuse myself with the fact I spent part of my morning visiting the dentist (ouch) and the rest of the afternoon and evening at work!

But just wait until tomorrow and see ....................... (and besides the birthday card I made for Sunday using the Embrace Life stamp set & the male theme as well - uses the papers - go back and have a look!!)

Good night. It's late. I'm going to bed!

Embrace Male!

Do you like my title - I am referring to my card! But read on!

I consider myself fortunate. I have many jobs - some unpaid, some paid, some I do - just for the love of it! I work almost full time (four days a week), I study my Masters part time, I am a full time mother and wife (the most important role) and I am an Independent Demonstrator for Stampin' Up! which is a casual/part time role. And that's only the start of it - I do so much more! I am not looking for kudos - in fact, I just love the fact that I can be all this at once.

Is there a point to this you ask? Maybe - maybe not! I was just sitting here thinking how lucky we are to have long weekends! I don't work Fridays, so this will be an extra long weekend for me. In fact, today was a lazy day! Baby Matthew and I went to the shops for a few essentials. He loves going in the ol' ute. Despite the fact it has no heating or cooling, the baby seat is safe and he can see so much. In fact he was pointing out the birds flying in the sky to me. Amazing when you stop and consider the view point of a young child. To them the flying of the bird is just magical.

I will get to my point! Despite the house chores, looking after Baby Matthew (Big Boy Luke and my Wonderful Husband (WH) went iceskating) and doing the washing, I did get to sit at my table and try my last card for this week's focus (Embrace Life if you have forgotten). I guess my deep thinking really suits that one - and that is completely by accident. Anyway, I wanted to make a card suitable for male birthdays. They are so hard to make cards with and I don't really have any male themed stamp sets (yet!) - but this one works!

Stamps: Embrace Life & Big Bold Birthday

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip & Old Olive

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Chocolate Chip (Textured cardstock) & DSP- Afternoon Tea

Other: Silver Brads

As you can see an uncomplicated and not too fussy card. Simple and just right for the male in your life.... hmm I wonder if I can translate or should I say convert to a female card???

My Hibiscus Card

Gosh did you get the storm last night? We did. We literally had to 'batten down the hatches'. The wind was so strong and we had rain too (which we are happy about), although I notice a few of our neighbours lost a few trees. Thankfully we didn't lose any of our roses or trees! But it was a funny old day today. Hot and muggy, with just a few seconds of rain. The type of day to stay inside and stay cool with the air-con on. Although it's rather quiet today. Big Boy Luke has gone to his Nan for a sleep over (his first time) and it's really really quiet. It's amazing - what difference one person can make to the sound levels in the house!

I have been working on some gifts and packaging today for my hostesses which I will show tomorrow. I am having so much fun with my themes. I have a bathroom accessories theme, notebooks & stationery and, of course, babies! Not hard to do - when both your sisters are having babies, as are a few girls at work! Everything coordinates courtesy of the designer series papers from Stampin' Up! which match their colours, their ribbons, stamps and embellishments. You would be amazed at how easy it is. Just a few accessories from around the house and you can put it all together. Makes for a perfect gift! Now that's got me thinking ..............

Today I made a birthday card for one of my friend's down in Melbourne. Her birthday kind of gets forgotten in the middle of Australia Day festivities - but that's why we have birthday calendars! What do you think?

Stamps: Embrace Life

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip, Black, River Rock, Rose Red & Garden Green

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Rose Red & Apricot Appeal

Other: Stampin' Pastels (Chalks), Scallop Edge Punch & Dew Drops

Note: I have used Stampin' Pastels to colour in the flowers and used Stampin' Dimensionals to 'lift up' one of the hibiscus flowers!

I have just looked at the time on the computer. It's 6.15pm. Time to get dinner for Baby Matthew and the grown-ups of course!

Embrace Life Stamp Set

A much quieter day today with little time spent in the hot sun! No migraine! A slight headache - but only a niggle really. I was still able to function as I normally would on a Thursday. Poor baby Matthew is still not quite himself after getting his 12 month needles yesterday. I wouldn't be either after 3 needles! Hopefully he'll be back to his normal self tomorrow! Fridays are my days home with my two boys and I can't wait - especially as Big Boy Luke is about to start school in a couple of weeks!

Anyway, I have been busy making things - prepping for my upcoming demonstrations. I am very excited by all the projects, creations and ideas that I will bring to your house for demonstrations and workshops. I might give you some sneak peeks over the weekend!

I am also excited to announce that I will be holding quarterly workshops - both here in Canberra and Melbourne. Stay tuned for dates and details. I'm so excited!

Anyway, anyway, anyway (a line I have borrowed from Dawn French's book - Dear Fatty) - I thought I might show you what the Embrace Life stamp set from Stampin' Up! looks like - looking at the catalogue pictures always gives me inspiration! What do you think?

And in case you're wondering - this one is featured in the Summer Mini!

Designer Series Paper - Afternoon Tea

Today I visited the new prison here in Canberra. That got your attention didn't it! The prison here isn't open for use yet - it is still officially under building contract, but we got to have a tour and see the different sections. Not quite the resort that it has been painted to be in the media. It was hot and dusty though. I came home with a stinker of a headache after spending too much time in the hot sun today (and before you ask, I did slip, slop & slap, as well as drink lots of water). I've had a little nanna nap and was in the mood for making a card! January is full of birthdays for me - so I have to keep on top of my card making! Feeling a little fragile though - I opted for an easy card with simple techniques. I used the Embrace Life set (it's very pretty you know) and changed my colour scheme for you all :)

Stamps: Embrace Life

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip & Garden Green

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Close to Cocoa & Tempting Turquoise & Designer Series Paper - Afternoon Tea

Other: Eyelets, Ribbon & Chalks

Note: I have used blue chalk to colour in the flower and yellow chalk to colour around the picture. I have double-matted the picture on Close to Cocoa cardstock to add interest. Use a crop-a-dile for easy setting of the eyelets!

Both this stamp set and the Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper are in the 2009 Summer Mini catalogue - contact me if you would like your own copy - even if just for a sticky beak. The pictures and project ideas provide plenty of inspiration!

Embrace Life

It is so lovely to be typing away while I can hear rain falling outside. Summer rain is wonderful, it smells fresh and clean and breaks the scorching heat of the day. When I get deep and meaningful about it - makes me appreciate life and everything that I have, I am and who I am with :) Told you it was deep!

And coincidentally - this loving life theme matches the Embrace Life stamp set from Stampin' Up! which is in their current Summer Mini Catalogue. It's a wonderful stamp set, especially if you love flowers (I do) and has the hibiscus! One of my all-time favourite summer flowers (must have something to do with my love for all things tropical like Fiji)!

Today I made this card for a good friend's birthday. The colours in the photo aren't true to life unfortunately (sorry - we are having lighting vs. electrical issues at the moment and are in good need of an electrician). And I couldn't go outside to take the pic - it's night and it's raining! So just put those thinking caps on and imagine the colour palettes! To help - the card is made from Groovy Guava, the Embrace Life box is from Apricot Appeal and I have used River Rock behind the blossom!

Stamps: Embrace Life

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip & Rose Red, and Black StazOn™

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, River Rock, Groovy Guava, Apricot Appeal & Designer Series Paper - Ginger Blossom

Other: Eyelets, Scallop Edge punch, Crystal Effects™ & Souffle pens (pastel pink & green)

Note: I have used Rose Red ink with a blender pen to colour in the hibiscus flower. Give it a good coating of Crystal Effects™ to add gloss and dimension to the hibiscus. I have inked the 'Embrace Life' box with Chocolate Chip and adhered it and the hibiscus to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals to 'lift' it up from the card. Use a crop-a-dile for easy setting of the eyelets!

It was my second day back at work today and I am already looking forward to our long Australia Day weekend. It helps to know that I have a long weekend coming up. I so wanted to be home with my boys during the school holidays, but it wasn't to be (my leave ran out). All my crafting has to wait until the weekend or late nights again (so excuse any crooked lines).

I hope you enjoy this week's focus with Embrace Life. Don't worry - I will get away from using the Ginger Blossom DSP! Pity - they are SOOOOO lovely!

Embrace Life!

Sunday 18 January 2009

I can't believe it's already Sunday and that I last wrote something on Thursday! What happened to the other days - they seem to have passed by in a blur! Tomorrow also means my holidays are over and I'm back at work. Not fair! That was not supposed to happen!

I have been busy making things though - mainly getting ready for demonstrations and workshops. If you're interested in holding a demonstration or a workshop - even a stamp camp - please contact me. We will be using some of the exciting new products in the 2009 Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalogue and the 2009 Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. There is so much cool things to choose from! As the hostess - you too will be involved in choosing the 'Make & Takes'. Don't miss out and book in now. Sale-A-Bration runs out in February which is just around the corner :)

Anyways.......... I made my sister a birthday card on Friday (her birthday is today!) using the Ginger Blossoms DSP (our week's focus product) as well as the new 'Embrace Life' stamp set in the 2009 Summer Mini Catalogue. These papers and stamps cordinate really well! So Happy Birthday Lib!

Stamps: Embrace Life & Big Bold Birthday

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic River Rock, Rose Red & Old Olive as well as Black StazOn™

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, River Rock, Groovy Guava & Designer Series Paper - Ginger Blossom

Other: Ribbon & Dew Drop Embellishments, Scallop Edge punch

Note: I have also inked the edges of the hibiscus flower with Rose Red and adhered it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals to 'lift' it up from the card. Use glue dots to hold the ribbon in place!

Well, that's it for the weekly focus on Ginger Blossom DSP. You will see it used in other projects as it is pretty! And if you're wondering - the colours in the Ginger Blossom DSP feature River Rock & Groovy Guava (among others) which are the In Colour palette colours from Stampin' Up! which run out in March. If you love those colours - be sure to stock up and get the matching ink refills so you can use them again and again, and again!

More Ginger Blossoms!

My new (well 6 months old) vacuum cleaner has just stopped working (not happy Jan!) however it gives me the perfect opportunity to sit down and update my blog :) I am hoping the vacuum is just hot from my working it so hard (I have 2 kids, including 1 baby crawling and leaving mess everywhere) that it just needs a cool down! A bit like us really. It's another hot day here in Canberra.

Well, anyway I have been very busy using the Ginger Blossoms Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin' Up! And you guessed it! These gorgeous papers are this week's focus here at Stamp with Me! These gorgeous papers use delicate designs which are just perfect for creating elegant and coordinating projects. The papers are perfect size for scrapping as well as using shades of reds, pinks, apricots, creams and greens. You have to see it for yourself!

The set also blends perfectly with the Embrace Life stamp set from Stampin' Up! which will be making an appearance soon as my weekly focus! To see for yourself on what these papers and stamps look like - just pick up your 2009 Summer Mini Catalogue from Stampin' Up! and turn to pages 18-19. See what I mean! If you haven't used DSP from Stampin' Up! before - you'll be amazed at the quality. Each sheet is double sided and comes in a pack of 12 (2 each of 6 designs). I just love it!

Oh, if you don't have a copy of the catalogue - contact me to get your very own!

So you must be wondering what I've been up to with these beautiful papers - lots really, but I'm going to keep in suspense and only show one project per day! It's almost like making Christmas last that little bit longer!

So do you like my beautiful little box? And you'll be surprised to know how easy it is to make. The template is easy to use and adapt if you want to change the size. I also (lol) used the balloon stamp from the Big Bold Birthday set from Stampin' Up! I told you it would make an appearance again one day! You can see I have the box standing on its side in this photo - to best show you how I used different colours and papers. The grosgrain ribbon (very vanilla) beautifully finishes off the box too - this ribbon is gorgeous! It feels so soft and looks so elegant! I have also made a little tag to hang off the ribbon to reflect the box is for a birthday gift.

Okay - enough chatter, here is the project recipe!!

Stamps: Big Bold Birthday

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip, Old Olive & Apricot Appeal

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Chocolate Chip & Designer Series Paper - Ginger Blossom

Other: Scallop Square Punch & Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon

Note: Use a sliver of the Chocolate Chip cardstock for the tail of the balloon!

Also an update - my sister hasn't gone into labour which is good news. However she will have to wait out the four weeks in hospital. We'll keep you posted!

Ginger Blossoms

We woke up to a very early telephone call with the news that my sister (who is 30 weeks pregnant) was on the way to hospital as her waters had broken. As you can imagine – we’ve been thinking about her all the day and wondering if she was going into early labour. Thankfully – everything is okay and she now has to stay in hospital and rest for 4 weeks to try and give her unborn bub as much time inside as she can. Of course that has thrown her whole household into chaos (she has 2 boys – Brendan 6 years & Aaron 18 months). I’m not sure she even knows what to start organising!

As my sister is in Melbourne – I have quickly assembled a parcel of goodies to send to her tomorrow express post to help alleviate any boredom and hopefully make time go a little bit quicker! A good novel, crossword/puzzle book, notebook and pen, as well as some small needlework projects for her to work on while stuck in hospital. I also made a little card to send with her, just to let her know we are thinking of her.

Stamps: Fun & Fast Notes

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, YoYo Yellow & Old Olive as well as Black StazOn™

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Certainly Celery & Designer Series Paper - Ginger Blossom

Other: Grosgrain Ribbon & Dew Drop Embellishments, Scallop Edge punch

Note: Use a piercing tool to add interest to the card. I have also inked the edges of the white square with the birdie stamp with Apricot Appeal. Use glue dots to hold the ribbon in place!

I have discovered these gorgeous little embellishments called Dew Drops (and before you ask – no they are not from Stampin’ Up!). They come in the cutest little jars and a huge variety of colours. I found them at the’ little online card shop’. Click on the link to see for yourself. Unfortunately Stampin’ Up! don’t have anything similar in their range at the moment.

Anyway, I best make my way to the post office and mail this off to my sister. We're thinking of you :)

Surprise Big Bold Birthday!

Firstly I need to mention that I have updated my News and Events page with information relating to hosting a Workshop during January and February 2009. It is a great time to hold a workshop - as well as being able to earn your "normal" hostess awards - you can also take advantage of Sale-A-Bration and getting more free stamps. How cool is that? Be sure to contact me if you would like to hold a workshop (even if it's just a catalogue workshop) and I'll send you an information pack, including all the current offers from Stampin' Up!

Well it's been a very busy weekend! Last night we hosted a Cyprus BBQ for my husband's team members. You might have noticed that I am not calling him my Wonderful Husband in this entry (chuckles, giggles, lol) as after last night's efforts and large amounts of Cypriot beer I think calling him my Silly Husband (SH) today might be more appropriate! While he did not disgrace himself - he sure enjoyed himself and says that he was getting into the spirit of the silly season. As you can imagine, my not drinking at his BBQ last night - meant that I was able to point out that the silly season is over :) . The night was in good fun though, the weather was perfect, the food divine and another successful Cyprus BBQ hosted by my SH!

There was only one draw back ;( I had to pack up the craft table again on Saturday morning. But guess what I found it again!

Today, I finished making a card for my friend's little girl. Of course I had to use pink. I took a little more time on this card and made a "Surprise" card! To do this I folded 2 pleats on the brown cardstock, punched some small holes. Once I finished stamping and embellishing, I then used some narrow ribbon to close off the Surprise.

Stamps: Big Bold Birthday

Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Chocolate Chip, Rose Red & YoYo Yellow

Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Pixie Pink, Pink Passion & Close to Cocoa

Other: Hole Punch & Ribbon

Note: Use Stampin' Dimensionals to raise your selected stamped images and the crimper tool to crimp your cardstock to add interest to your projects.

Today I finally wrapped a present and discovered that I had plenty of Christmas wrapping paper and not much else. The actual is a CD, so I was able to use an A3 sized paper and used the Big Bold Birthday stamps individually on the paper, in scattered patterns and directions. Here's a tip - use lots of colours for kid's papers! Tie it with some bright ribbon and add a tag. Perfect - your own DIY wrappings!

And this concludes my focus on the Big Bold Birthday stamp set. I'm sure it will come to good use again down the track, but I'm moving on to some new products that are featured in the 2009 Mini Summer Catalogue from Stampin' Up!

Glues, Punches and More...

This week is going so fast. It’s already Thursday and I haven’t done a single thing that I had planned. Such as clearing the dining table @ craft table, pulling down the Christmas tree and packing away the decorations. I don’t know why – maybe the heat makes you put things off. It was another warm day today, but not a scorcher like yesterday. I guess there is always tomorrow......

My latest Stampin’ Up! order arrived today and it was filled with lots of goodies – including my Sale-A-Bration stamps as well as my latest best buddy friend tool /gadget or whatever you call it! Glue really!

The 2009 Summer Mini Catalogue includes the ‘Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive’. Incorrectly priced in the catalogue, it actually retails for $7.95 and I love it! It is a dual-tip adhesive which also can be used for temporary or permanent things. The broad tip is so smooth – it glides! I used it to make my latest offering!

This card (after two false starts) and matching gift pouch used the Big Bold Birthday set as well as using some of the other new tools/gadgets/equipment in the 2009 Summer Mini Catalogue on page 17. The new punches (which I just love :) include the Scallop Edge and the Scallop Square. The Scallop Edge is so easy to use and saves us from the old-fashioned, long winded way!

You will also note that I used some of the papers from the 2008 Spring Mini Catalogue – they just matched my colour scheme perfectly! Oh well, we all have a stash of papers somewhere!

Big Bold Birthday

It sure was hot today. After all the rain and cool weather we have had recently – summer weather in the 30’s sure hits ya! In fact, it was a great day to stay indoors! So in an effort to keep my five year old BBL amused – we went to the movies and sat in air-conditioned comfort watching the movie Bolt. It’s a cool movie – even if you have to wear plastic (unflattering!) 3D glasses. It was absolutely worth it though. The special effects were amazing and BBL loved it :)

Supposedly there is a cool change coming through – but in the meantime our air-conditioning at home is on, the dinner table is cleared and I can sit down for a moment. Well, until duty calls I guess....

Today’s card also features the Stampin’ Up! Big Bold Birthday set but this time the card is pink (for a girl of course!).

Stamps: Big Bold Birthday
Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Close to Cocoa & Pixie Pink
Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Pixie Pink, Pink Passion & Lovely Lilac
Other: New Scallop Edge punch from Stampin’ Up!, Ribbons & Kindy Glitz (non-SU)
Note: Use Stampin' Dimensionals to raise your selected stamped images! I have also used Kindy Glitz to highlight the flower centres and to colour in (and add bling!) to one of the presents!

Okay! That’s it for the simple cards. Now I am going to see what I can do with a bit more time and a few more products. Stay tuned for that one.

I am also trying to organise our monthly craft calendar for this year! Things to do, things to do! Guess it’s lucky I have a few days off (even if I have to keep the young-ones amused!!)

Big Bold Birthday

Okay – here it is! My first card of the year! It’s taken me at least 6 days to make a card – I must be feeling very unwell – withdrawals maybe!! :)

As promised, I am focusing on the Big Bold Birthday stamp set from Stampin’ Up! and have made this card for a special little boy.

Stamps: Big Bold Birthday
Inks: Stampin' Up! Classic Close to Cocoa, Soft Sky & Tempting Turquoise
Papers: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Soft Sky & Tempting Turquoise
Other: Brads, Button & Kindy Glitz (non-SU)
Note: Use Stampin' Up! Glue Dots to stick down the heavier embellishments like beads and buttons for extra sticking power and Stampin' Dimensionals to raise your selected stamped images!

The balloons are stamped with same colour ink as the cardstock (both Tempting Turquoise) to give an illusion of background pictures. This is a great way to add features to your card without using more papers ... unless of course you like to use papers!

Both cupcake pieces have been raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals with the “icing” coated with Kindy Glitz to give sparkle. The Certainly Celery cardstock has been edged with Close to Cocoa ink

Anyway, it was a simple card to make. Which is lucky really as I haven’t “found” my Craft Table yet – it is still covered in Christmas stuff waiting to be put away in the roof for next time!

Focus on Stamps

I am playing at-home mum this and next week. Big Boy Luke (BBL) is starting kinder this year (that’s prep to all you Victorians!). It’s heart-string pulling to look at my baby – who isn’t a baby anymore and to think we’re getting ready to start school. My Wonderful Husband gets the last two weeks of holiday-care. BBL might need a change of scenery by then! As for Baby Matthew – he’s just cruising around the furniture and trying to stand on his own (for a second or two). He’ll be walking before I know it!

To kick off this new year – I thought I might try something different. To give a bit of structure (is it possible when crafting???), I will focus on one particular Stampin’ Up! product each week. It could be a stamp set, an embellishment, a punch or even the beautiful Designer Series Papers – we’ll see where the year takes off. It could be seasonal, promotional or even inspirational!

This week we focus on the Big Bold Birthday stamp set (I have lots of birthday cards to make this week). You can find this set in your 2008-2009 Stampin’ Up! Ideas Book & Catalogue on page 37. This set includes 13 stamps and you have the option of the two-step stamping process or using the stamps individually. Over the week – we’ll see what we can do!
There is even a matching jumbo wheel – but I’ll have to put that one on my wish list :)!
